Distrupol and ENGEL extend ‘no charge’ training programme for the plastics industry
Building on the success of their joint workshop and training programmes launched in 2005, to deliver technical training in plastic technology to industry participants, Distrupol and Engel have announced they will host a new series of training courses commencing in October 2006. The programme will be conducted under the banner of the ENGEL Moulders’ Group and held at their UK headquarters’ in Warwick. As before, the courses are open to the industry at large and will be ‘free-of-charge’.
The programme for 2006 – 2007 is as follows:
| Course Outline | Date |
| Basic Material Selection | 19th October, 2006 |
| Cycle Time Optimisation | 18th January, 2007 |
| Advanced Material Selection | 19th April, 2007 |
| Specifying the Machine for the Application | 21st June, 2007 |
| Processing for Quality | 6th September, 2007 |
Throughout the events, Mike Madden, Head of Training, ENGEL UK, and Chi Lam, Technical and Training Manager, Distrupol, will be on hand to give valuable insight into subjects such as Plastic materials’ performance and selection, appropriate tooling concepts, component and mould design, as well as machine and automation solutions.
“This is the second consecutive year we are running this programme in co-operation with ENGEL,” said Chi Lam. “Due to its success we have had to reduce the size of the group to a maximum of 20 guests per session. This is to benefit the attendees on the more “hands-on” part of the programme, where they can be more involved in the practical part of the training”.
Interested individuals or companies who would like to attend the training sessions can contact their local Distrupol or ENGEL representative, telephone Distrupol 01932 57 33 42, or send an e-mail to chi.lam@distrupol.com.
Both companies stress that they are pleased to provide this training facility free-of-charge, regardless of whether or not there exists the potential to make a sale. However, they will be willing to offer quotations for machinery or materials as part of the service.
