New European managing director at Distrupol

Effective 1st October 2006, Paul Henderson (51) is the new European Managing Director at Distrupol. In this role he will be responsible for driving the continued growth and development of Distrupol as a leading European polymer distributor, technical service and solutions provider in new and established markets. He will be based at the company’s European headquarters in Chertsey, England.

Paul has over 28 years experience of the international chemicals market. During a 15-year career at ICI, starting in 1978, he held several management positions in Europe, Africa and North America within the company’s Petrochemicals and Fibres divisions. The latter’s purchase by DuPont in 1993 saw Paul go on to manage the company’s Tactel® brand to great success, including its promotion to a number of high-street clothing brands.

In 1998 he joined Europe Dussek Campbell Ltd., a subsidiary of Burmah Castrol Speciality Chemicals, to become its Managing Director. In his most recent role prior to joining Distrupol, Paul was Vice-President Europe, Africa and Middle-East for Lucite International Limited, where he was influential in defining the company’s business strategy and implementation in the region, including the re-engineering of its marketing, branding and distribution structure and processes.

Commenting a few weeks into his new role at Distrupol, Paul said: “I have already been immensely impressed by the professional and customer-focused attitude of my colleagues in bringing great value to customers and suppliers alike.
