NEW MOLYKOTE® WHITE BEARING GREASE EFFECTIVE IN WIDE RANGE OF FOOD GRADE APPLICATIONS

MIDLAND, Mich. – March 25, 2004 – With a unique combination of an aluminum complex thickener, white lubricating solids and other highly effective additives, Molykote® White Bearing Grease reduces friction, prevents metal-to-metal contact and minimizes wear in food grade applications, even under high surface pressures and marginal lubrication conditions.

Molykote White Bearing Grease is a multipurpose, high-performance, mineral oil grease that has a wide range of applications in grease-lubricated mechanical components such as bearings, gears, chains and sliding mechanisms.

Because the raw materials have been selected to be used in mechanisms where incidental contact with foodstuffs or pharmaceutical products are possible, Molykote White Bearing Grease can be used as lubrication in process machinery, canneries, dairies, beverage plants, meat processing plants and pharmaceutical plants. The grease has been formulated and meets FSA Regulations 21 CFR 178.3570 and USDA H1 classification and is available in NLGI consistency class 2.

The white bearing grease has a service temperature range of -17° to 150C° (1° to 302°F) and a drop point of 270°C (518°F). It can be applied by hand packing, hand operated grease guns, automatic greasing equipment and central lubricating systems. When stored at or below 32°C (90°F) in the original unopened containers, the grease has a usable life of 60 months from the date of production.
