FNSS WINS IMPORTANT CONTRACT FOR ARMORED VEHICLES USING DYNEEMA® BALLISTIC TAPE FROM DSM DYNEEMA

(Photo: FNSS, DYNPR241)The Netherlands, May 8, 2013 - DSM Dyneema, the manufacturer of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMwPE) fiber, branded as Dyneema®, and world leader in life protection materials, today announced a major new milestone for its lightweight, cost-effective Dyneema® BT10 ballistic tape. FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A.Ş., a leading producer of armored vehicles based in Turkey, won an important contract from an Asian government to manufacture 8x8 “PARS©” amphibious armored personnel vehicles featuring spall liners made with BT10. Importantly, cost effective BT10 combined with its superior ballistic performance enabled FNSS to meet the highly stringent specifications for the spall liner.

The signing affirms the companies’ mutual interest in further cooperation to provide the best armor protection for FNSS’s armored vehicles by capitalizing on the company’s world-class manufacturing capabilities and DSM Dyneema’s unique balance of cost efficiencies and exceptional high performance to meet all necessary requirements. DSM Dyneema and FNSS recently worked together on a major military vehicle project, the details of which will be jointly announced by the two companies shortly.

The Netherlands, 21 November 2012 - DSM Dyneema, the producer of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber branded as Dyneema®, has again successfully defended its intellectual property covering its very high strength and lightweight polyethylene fiber based products. DSM Dyneema last week reached a settlement with a company manufacturing and trading in fiber based panels for ballistic protective products. The offending company, whose name is not being made public, signed settlement conditions drawn up by DSM Dyneema, after the case was brought before the “Tribunal de Grande Instance” in Paris.
