DSM DYNEEMA SELECTED AS VIP SPEAKER AT UPCOMING INDIA CONFERENCE
URMOND (NL), November 17, 2010 - DSM Dyneema has been selected as a VIP Speaker at the upcoming Armored Vehicles India Conference which takes place in New Delhi from November 22nd to 24th 2010.
Organized by Defence IQ, the event will involve a range of key note speakers and is expected to draw a high number of Indian military decision makers together with senior delegates from industry suppliers and end users.
Central to this year’s conference will be India’s new Defence Procurement Procedure and its ambitious plans to build and acquire more than 2,000 Future Infantry Combat Vehicles. These developments are set to open up expanded opportunities for industry suppliers focused around maintenance, upgrading and procurement of armored vehicles.
During the conference over 15 key note presentations will be given by senior military speakers from over seven different countries. On November 23rd, Josse Kunst, Vice President Life Protection Asia, DSM Dyneema will deliver a presentation illustrating how Dyneema® ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibers are contributing to better protection at reduced weight in armored vehicles in a range of applications with defence forces across the world. The presentation will outline the different grades of Dyneema® available, their cost-effectiveness over the vehicle’s life cycle and why they are suited to key programs such as the Future Infantry Combat Vehicles (FICV), referencing other Indian successes such as OFB’s mine protected vehicle.
