SUPERIOR GLOVE INTRODUCES NEW SUREKNIT™ GLOVES MADE WITH ADVANCED DYNEEMA® FIBER TECHNOLOGY

New lightweight, long-lasting protective gloves are so comfortable - you won’t know you are wearing them

URMOND (NL), 12 October 2007 - Superior Glove is proud to introduce a new glove made with Dyneema® that is truly remarkable in both the cut- and abrasion-resistance categories. Superior's SureKnit™ seamless gloves are a shining example of the best advances that have been made in fiber technology. A glove this comfortable, providing this much protection would have been the impossible dream, back even a few years ago. The SureKnit™ glove with Dyneema® is so abrasion-resistant, it did not wear out even after 5000 cycles on the Taber Test, used to determine abrasion resistance. So now, while providing excellent protection against cuts, Superior offers a glove that won’t wear out long before its cut-resistance does. But there’s another bonus: with help from DSM Dyneema, Superior has applied a unique spinning technique to the process, resulting in a knit that is less slippery, and thus provides better grip.

“These gloves are so snug fitting and lightweight that you won’t just like wearing them, you might even get to love them”, said Tony Geng, President, Superior Glove.

Dyneema®, the world’s strongest fiber™ is 15 times stronger than quality steel on an equal weight basis. Protective gloves made with Dyneema® are suitable for protection against a wide range of mechanical and cut hazards, while delivering an unprecedented level of comfort, performance and cost-effectiveness. Other gloves can cause hand sweating and even itching due to poor air penetration, Dyneema® spun yarn enables a better air circulation for greater comfort over extended periods.

More than ever, employees want high quality, comfortable hand protection, that won’t affect the quality of their work. Lightweight gloves with Dyneema® with their soft feel are so comfortable that it’s easy to forget you’re wearing them. Consequently, they are more likely to be worn at all times - effectively increasing workplace safety.

Dyneema® also provides very high abrasion and chemical resistance that is not diminished by repeated washings. This high performance extends the life of the gloves, particularly in harsh environments, thus reducing replacement costs.

Henri Oeseburg, Business Manager Cut Resistance DSM Dyneema, said, “We are delighted with the new SureKnit™ glove made with Dyneema® which will provide even greater comfort and protection to Superior Glove’s customers. Our collaboration with Superior Glove on the new spinning technique and glove development underlines our commitment to the North American market and to developing close, working relationships with our customers.”
