THE ONE THAT WON’T GET AWAY – THANKS TO A NEW DYNEEMA® GRADE

The Netherlands, May 30, 2011 - For committed fishermen it’s all about feeling the bite. And this special moment is now about to be intensified as a result of fishing lines based on a new, extremely thin grade of Dyneema® fiber, the Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber from DSM.

The low elongation of this new grade of the world’s strongest and thinnest fiber provides an extremely subtle and accurate feel, along with the ability to respond precisely and instantly to line movement. But the benefits for anglers don’t stop there.

The ultra-thin diameter and smooth and supple feel greatly enhances casting performance in respect of smoothness, distance and accuracy.

What’s more, the exceptional strength of Dyneema® fiber provides even more fighting power and control for reeling in the big ones. And all of this is achieved without sacrificing reliability and long service life – in established abrasion resistance tests the new grade has been shown to retain 68% of its strength after 20,000 cycles – making it the highest performer in this respect. In addition, lines based on Dyneema® are highly cut resistant, since they flatten when placed under tension.

This special new Dyneema® grade is being made available to DSM Dyneema’s Premium Manufacturing Partners and to leading fishing line brands in partnership. To provide fishermen the assurance that lines are made with Dyneema® from legitimate and licensed manufacturers, they should look for the Dyneema® trademark and the ‘diamond logo’. This can only be used under licence by authorized companies. Working with the leading names in the industry shows DSM Dyneema’s commitment to quality.

About DSM Dyneema

DSM Dyneema is the inventor and manufacturer of Dyneema®, the world’s strongest fiber™. Dyneema® is an Ultra High Molecular Weight PolyEthylene (UHMWPE) fiber that offers maximum strength combined with minimum weight.
