Tarragona, September 6, 2017 – ELIX Polymers has developed a range of specialty grades of ABS and PC/ABS to reduce the squeak that is generated by the contact of plastic parts with other plastic parts, leather, PVC-foil or other products. These undesirable noises can negatively affect the driver´s comfort and the quality impression of a car.

Top moulder Maier uses new ABS/PC from ELIX Polymers for exterior pillar cover
Tarragona, June 21, 2017 – A leading supplier of interior and exterior automotive parts has selected a new ABS/polycarbonate blend from ELIX Polymers for the production of exterior pillar covers to be used in an upcoming premium class car from a well-known German manufacturer. Maier S. Coop., in Vizcaya, Spain, is using ELIX Ultra HH4115HI in a two-component part that combines the ABS/PC with a polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA).

Tarragona, December 5, 2016 – Collaboration between ELIX Polymers, a leading specialist in the production of ABS specialties, and BSH Electrodomésticos España, part of Europe’s largest producer of household appliances, to improve the contrast and resolution of aesthetic laser marking on visible ABS components has produced “highly satisfactory” results. Cooperation in research and development has helped ELIX Polymers develop special laser-markable grades of ABS, while BSH says it may now extend its use of laser decoration into new areas.

ELIX Polymers launches new food-contact grade
Tarragona, November 29, 2016 – ELIX Polymers has launched a new ABS grade for use in products that come into contact with food and which also require extra toughness and resistance to high temperatures. Target applications include kitchenware, products for preparation and storage of food, and also toys. The new M545TF grade will enhance the company’s Healthcare portfolio, which already includes grades for medical devices, cosmetics, food contact applications and toys.
