EMG appoints Niels von Hombracht to supervisory board
The European Marketing Group (EMG) has taken a further step in its strategic development plan with the appointment of Niels von Hombracht to its supervisory board.
Niels von Hombracht, who most recently was an executive board member of Vopak, holds a masters degree in chemical engineering and polymer chemistry. He has held a range of senior management posts as well as executive and non-executive directorships with industry leaders such as Shell Chemicals and Pakhoed, and is currently studying for a masters degree in corporate communication.
In announcing the appointment, EMG CEO, Greg Farrett said: “Niels’ extensive senior management experience and understanding of the issues and opportunities in the chemical and logistics industries, both in The Netherlands and internationally, will support our management team with the knowledge to better service our clients.
“EMG is one of the leading independent business-to-business PR and Marketing Communications agencies in The Netherlands, specialised in providing communications services to, clients in their European - and increasingly global - marketplaces. Niels von Hombracht, who has 25 years executive management experience in both the chemicals and logistics sectors, will greatly assist EMG’s management in further understanding the future trends within these sectors .”
EMG, whose clients include world leaders such as DSM, Eastman, General Electric, Great Lakes, Honeywell and Univar, has successfully leveraged its position in The Netherlands to run an internationally focused business. However, until now the company has not really considered the scope that exists for its services and international reach within its home market.
“Niels will provide strategic direction and consultation to assist EMG’s management in understanding and reaching out to the medium/large industrial business community in the Netherlands, to provide these businesses with strong marketing and communications strategies to ensure the success and growth of their international ventures,” Farrett explains.
In taking up his appointment, Niels von Hombracht said: “EMG has a strong client portfolio and I have been impressed with the value that they have been able to deliver to these clients. I look forward to advising them on the future development and direction of their business as they move forward with plans to develop their logistics and chemicals practice group.”
