EMG Expands in China with Opening of Beijing Office

(Beijing 19th September 2007) – EMG has announced the opening of a branch office in Beijing, China, continuing its expansion across Asia-Pacific and further strengthening its international operations.

EMG entered the PR & marketing communications market in China in September 2004, initially with a representative office in Shanghai. In three short years, EMG China has grown into a 12 person agency with an impressive list of multi-national clients, and the business was converted into a WOFE in 2006 to coincide with a significant second-stage investment.

The EMG China Beijing office, based in the prestigious Kuntai International Building in the Chaoyang District, is already fully operational with an initial team of 2 and further recruitment is now underway. Jason Cao was appointed in June as general manager to oversee the set-up process and launch EMG in the Beijing marketplace. Jason brings to EMG his extensive experience in both local and international agencies, most recently with Weber Shandwick and First Vision Communications.

Jacky Cheng, EMG’s general manager in Shanghai, is working closely with the new team in Beijing to replicate his own success in developing EMG’s business in Shanghai. Speaking in Beijing, Jacky commented “We have clearly demonstrated the need in the market for EMG’s unique approach to B2B media relations and marketing communications, opening in Beijing will enable EMG to provide its expertise to a wider client base.”

In addition to the operation in Shanghai, EMG already has an office in Singapore and strategic partnerships elsewhere in the wider Asia-Pacific region. John Gallagher, EMG’s Global Accounts Director, commented “Opening in Beijing takes EMG a step closer towards its goal of becoming a leading player in the region, and once our business is established in Beijing then we will consider further offices in China.”
