Post Office Limited Leaflet Dispensers Use Eastar® Copolyester From Eastman

CAPELLE A/D IJSSEL, THE NETHERLANDS - The Post Office Limited has introduced a new range of leaflet dispensing units which have been designed and developed specifically for this application by Artform International in Loughborough, England. The material, Eastar® copolyester from Eastman Chemical Company, was selected for its excellent clarity, impact and chemical resistance.

The Post Office Limited operates a network of around 15,500 directly managed and franchised branches throughout the UK. These offer a range of postal, banking travel, bill payment and financial services. With a rapidly expanding portfolio of services on offer, promotion of these services in-store is a key requirement.

To create the necessary POS products for A1, A3 and A4 posters as well as A4, A5 and 1/3 A4 leaflets, the Post Office® asked Artform Limited to develop the relevant leaflet dispensing system.

The final products were designed and developed by Artform International to meet the highly specific and stringent display requirements of the Post Office, who hold all design rights.

According to Ian Stoakes, Business Development Manager of Artform International, the range consists of graphic and poster lenses, A4 and A5 leaflet holders and associated fittings including last leaflet retainers and inserts to accommodate 1/3 A4 leaflets. He adds: “All items have to withstand heavy consumer usage – and the constant rearrangement of displays. In addition they have to be robust enough to withstand accidental impact – as units are often in quite exposed positions. Leaflet holders are designed to nest together and/or to connect so that the number and type of leaflets can be varied as desired. Flexibility was a key word as these display solutions have to fit all types of branches.”

Eastar copolyester is particularly suitable for these injection moulded leaflet dispensers: parts made using Eastar copolyester have unrivaled clarity and gloss, and they offer more than just aesthetic appeal. The material's toughness, superior impact resistance and outstanding overall resiliency mean parts maintain their looks and performance – even through years of use. Eastar copolyester is easy to process and also lends itself to various types of fabrication techniques including sonic welding, spin welding and adhesion.

Parts can be routed, welded, drilled, die-punched, bent hot or cold, or joined by screws, rivets, or bolts. The material can also be cut on conventional table, band, or radial-arm saws. It accepts screen-printing, painting, and hot-stamping easily. Surface scratches or scuff marks can be removed using a heat gun, whilst even strong cleaning solutions will not turn the material white, making it suitable for in-store environments.

Eastar copolyester is the first choice material to address the needs of brand owners, designers and fabricators alike, offering many advantages for designing an extensive range of creations, from elementary objects to the most complex designs. Eastman is a leader in the development of innovative materials for achieving clarity, durability, resistance and toughness in display, signage and plastic card applications.
