Confidence returns to tech sector

PR Conference hears initial survey results

Delegates at last week’s conference of the Eurocom PR Network were presented with the initial results of the Eurocom Technology Confidence Survey. Based on responses from senior executives in the technology sector across Europe, the survey clearly showed that a recovery was expected in the first two quarters of 2004. Full results of the survey will be available from February 16th.

Eurocom PR Network is the largest tech specialist PR Network in Europe based on PR Week figures. The annual conference was held in Milan on 15 & 16 January with delegates from across Europe as well as Middle East, Africa, India and United States.

The survey also looked at threats to technology markets, key growth technologies revenue and employment expectations as well as which markets have the best potential for growth and which country was most likely to be the next Silicon Valley.

International Campaign Management was the focus of the conference keynote speaker: David Harrower, former VP business development Brodeur Worldwide and one time general manager at FitzGerald Communications, Boston and senior VP international technology division for Fleishman Hillard.

The Network Development workshops on Business Development, Partner Development, Network Communications and Partner Resources were facilitated by Chris Kaday. Chris is a former main board director of Burson Marsteller and founder and former CEO of Hi Tech Marketing which specialised in marketing strategy, research and telephone marketing for business generation and customer servicing

It was also announced that the Eurocom PR Network will now be known as Eurocom Worldwide to reflect the fact it now has 50 locations in 37 countries bringing together 400 people in North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia and Australia as well as Europe and the Middle East, serving 500 clients.
