IMPORTANT INTERNATIONAL GUESTS AT EUROPORT MARITIME
Europort Maritime (6-9 November, Ahoy, Rotterdam, The Netherlands), the international trade fair for advanced marine technology, has the honour of welcoming Mr Huang Pingtao. Mr Pingtao is president of the Chinese society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (CSNAME).
The pace of technological developments for maritime applications is so fast it is essential that Europort Maritime offer a state-of-the-art overview of knowledge and progress.
This is one reason that Mr Huang Pingtao has agreed to deliver a speech at the interesting, packed agenda of the conference and meeting programme of this international maritime trade fair. The exceptional growth in orders for shipyards in China and related opportunities for western businesses are topical subjects that Mr Pingtao will raise. Additionally, Europort Maritime also perfectly fits the growing tendency of global orientation towards the most favourable locations for building and finishing vessels and ships.
Seen in this light, the many Rumanian companies taking part in Europort Maritime is no less important. Collaboration between Dutch companies and Rumanian shipyards has long passed the stage of hull building. The opportunities afforded by Rumanian entrepreneurs are interesting for Dutch and other international companies in the supplier’s sector.
This year, with respect to quality, diversity and size, the Rumanian contribution to Europort Maritime is the largest ever at an international maritime trade fair. A Rumanian dignitary is also planning to visit Europort Maritime.
The total list of exhibitors contains some of the world’s largest and most innovative companies in the maritime sector. More than 950 companies from some 35 countries are expected to participate in the event. This signifies the worldwide recognition of the importance of Europort Maritime.
The main area of interest in this edition of Europort Maritime continues to be complex shipbuilding projects. The expertise offered by the Dutch maritime group should draw considerable attention. This entails such things as building of patrol vessels, mega-yachts, dredging equipment, short sea vessels, tankers, offshore suppliers, heavylift vessels and high performance inland navigation vessels. New shipbuilding techniques such as composition building and preventive maintenance will be major focal points. In a wider context, attention will focus on Dutch expertise in the area of equipment supply, engineering, fleet management, repairs and refitting.
