EUROPORT MARITIME 2007 TO OFFER AN EXTENSIVE AND IMPORTANT CONFERENCE PROGRAM

Europort Maritime 2007, the international exhibition for the international maritime industry, will host three major international conferences alongside the exhibition in November (6th – 9th): CEDA Dredging Days 2007, Maritime Health Conference (new) and the annual IBT meeting. Participants to these conferences will also be making guided tours around Europort Maritime exhibition floor.

CEDA (Central Dredging Association) Dredging Days, 7-9 November

The CEDA days are the most important annual event for dredging professionals from all over the world. This 2007 conference focuses on state-of-the-art technology but also seeks to raise awareness of the importance of dredging to the world in terms of infrastructure and public welfare.

During five sessions internationally renowned keynote speakers will describe and analyse the circumstances surrounding cases where dredging was NOT approved. At the same time, each speaker will offer possible new approaches and present case studies.

As part of CEDA’s ongoing support for education, university and college students will be invited to present their research results on any dredging related subject.

The CEDA days are accompanied by a dedicated “exhibition within an exhibition” in the Ahoy complex. Companies such as Van Oord, IHC Holland, Shipdock Amsterdam, Seatools / Dredgemate, Deme, CRSI, G-Tec, Dredging International and others will all present their specific expertise.

Maritime Health Conference, 8 - 9 November

During these two days medical specialists, directors, policymakers and suppliers of medical solutions will debate current and future issues during eight different sessions. This, the first Maritime Health Conference to be held at Maritime Europort, will host many international participants and is an important addition to Europort Maritime’s conference programme.

The conference will focus on major issues such as the management of handling medical claims, analysis of medical data in port clinics, drugs & alcohol testing, accidents and casualties, US Coast Guard regulations, crew health on cruise ships, infections and out-breaks of disease, the role and scope of telemedicine.

IBT (International Brokers and Traders) annual meeting

In excess of 270 representatives from over forty French, Swiss, German, Austrian and Dutch inland cruise companies will meet in Rotterdam starting November 8th. This years’ meeting’s will have as it’s theme, ‘Water’. As part of the program, all representatives will be making a tour of Europort Maritime.

Delegates from China, Romania, Vietnam and Brasil

Delegates attending the conference program represent major shipbuilding and shipping companies (inland as well as sea-going) in their respective countries and a large number of them will, in addition, be present at their national pavilions at Europort Maritime. Since finding facilities for ship construction has become increasingly difficult, the presence of such delegates be of considerable interest to ship owners and traders.
