GREAT LAKES INCREASES PRICES FOR HIGH VOLUME FLAME RETARDANT
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA—Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (NYSE:GLK) today announced that it is increasing the off list price for BA-59P™ (tetrabromobisphenol A) flame retardant by $0.30/kg worldwide with all shipments effective October 1, 2004, where contracts allow.
The company stated that the new pricing is due to the continuing and unprecedented escalation in prices for key raw materials, energy and transportation costs.
Great Lakes BA-59P™ is used in the manufacture of flame retardant printed circuit boards and as an intermediate for other brominated flame retardants.
