GREAT LAKES INCREASES PRICE FOR DECABROMODIPHENYLOXIDE FLAME RETARDANT
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA—Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (NYSE:GLK) today announced that it is increasing off list prices for Great Lakes DE-83™ (decabromodiphenyloxide) flame retardant by $0.20/kg worldwide with all shipments effective November 1, 2004, where contracts allow.
The company stated that this action is necessary due to the continuing escalation in prices for key raw materials, energy and transportation costs.
Great Lakes DE-83R™ flame retardant is used in the manufacture of polymers in electronics, wire and cable, building and construction, and transportation markets. Great Lakes DE-83R™ is known for its versatility as a flame retardant, and it has outstanding recyclability performance.
