GREAT LAKES INCREASES CLEAR BRINE FLUIDS PRICES
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (NYSE:GLK) announced today it will increase list prices in all regions for calcium bromide, zinc bromide/calcium bromide solution, sodium bromide, dry calcium bromide and dry sodium bromide effective October 15, 2004.
The new list prices per pound for these products (in bulk) ex-works will be:
° Calcium Bromide … $0.23/lb.
° Zinc Bromide/Calcium Bromide Solution … $0.45/lb.
° Sodium Bromide … $0.22/lb.
° Dry Calcium Bromide … $0.87/lb.
° Dry Sodium Bromide … $0.82/lb.
Due to inflation in key raw materials and energy, these price increases are necessary to offset the impact of higher manufacturing costs and to achieve reinvestment economics during a time of tight bromine supply.
