Guardian Sun® Goes to the Head of the Class in Spain
Bertrange, Luxembourg, November 10, 2015 – The Spanish arm of Guardian Europe, a leading supplier of high-quality commercial, residential and interior glass products, has signed a collaboration agreement with the Energy Foundation of the Community of Madrid (a private, non-profit organization), the Polytechnic University of Madrid and other companies in the window industry to research energy-saving measures and energy-efficient products.
Guardian Glass España, the company’s distribution network and sales company in Spain, said the goal of the collaboration is to quantify the energy savings achieved through the application of Guardian Sun®, Guardian’s low-E coated residential glass available in Spain, and other window technologies. The tests, already under way, are being conducted at University’s Center for the School of Mines and Energy, which replaced its old windows with energy-efficient insulating units with glass from Guardian’s plant in Tudela, Spain.
Through this collaboration, Guardian Glass has strengthened its ties with some of the region’s leading window and window profile fabricators, and demonstrated the value of Guardian products.
“Partnering with the University and others in the supply chain is extremely beneficial to our goal of creating value for our customers and society through the development of advanced energy-saving products,” says Miguel Sánchez, Manager of the Guardian Sun Program for window fabricators. “We will use the results of the research to further develop and promote products and solutions to meet the needs of our customers.”
The Energy Foundation said it will apply the data collected to create communication campaigns to encourage greater use of energy-efficient products among consumers.
