The lightweight building envelope in the 21st century: a conference on the latest trends in the world of architecture

Guardian Industries, Rockwool, Technal and Griesser are organising the event, which will take place on December 2 at the Maritime Museum of Barcelona

Bertrange, Luxembourg, December 9, 2015 – “The lightweight building envelope in the 21st Century: Risks and Opportunities” is the title of the conference that will offered by Ignacio Fernandez Solla, Associate Director - Leader of the Team in Arup Facade Spain, on December 2nd at the Maritime Museum of Barcelona. Fernandez Solla will provide a comprehensive overview of the new requirements of the types of lightweight building envelopes that are marking new trends in today's architectural design. During the conference he will discuss:

  • Tectonic issues in design for resilience and reliability.
  • Energy: building envelopes as a barrier and as a filter.
  • Dynamism: passive, active and receptive facades.
  • Durability: how to optimise investments.
