Honeywell Refrigerants Europe continues to reinforce its market presence
Confirming its commitment to the refrigeration industry Honeywell Refrigerants Europe, a leader in HFC refrigerant technology, has increased its investment in customer services, research and production capacity.
According to the company’s Commercial Director, James Harris: “Having been active in the European marketplace for the past 10 years I believe we have demonstrated our intention to support customers over the long-term. And, importantly, that we are able to comprehensively meet their needs from one of the broadest portfolios of safer, environmentally friendly refrigerants available within the industry.
“Moreover, as a leader in the development of refrigerant solutions offering greater energy efficiency, we are providing an increasing number of customers with assistance in system improvements that yield even greater energy efficiencies. Particularly with regard to the conversion of HCFC operating systems to HFC refrigerants which will contribute to lower “greenhouse gas” emissions and therefore contribute to a sustainable environment,” Harris says.
Throughout Europe enhanced customer services take the form of an expanded organisation with additional staff, including more region specific sales managers focussed on the refrigeration industry. Other complementary supports are new customer focussed literature specific to the refrigeration and air-conditioning industries, as well as a more user friendly, multilingual web site: www.honeywellrefrigerants.com
“We offer outstanding products and technical support services, geared towards the European market. Examples of these products and services are application development support, regulatory expertise, retrofit and conversion expertise and broad technical data support.
Underlining Honeywell’s commitment to the industry, the company has recently expanded and doubled the capacity of its world-scale fluorocarbon production facility at Geismar, Louisiana, USA. This centre produces R-134a and R-125, which are key fluorocarbon long-term substitutes for CFCs and HCFCs in many growing applications, including both stationary and mobile air-conditioning and refrigeration.
This facility also includes the new production plant for HFC-245fa. HFC-245fa is a safer, environmentally friendly replacement for HCFC-141b as a blowing agent for foam insulation. It will also find utility in stationary air-conditioning systems, as well as other application areas.
