HONEYWELL APPOINTS RALF FINZEL PLANT MANAGER AND MANAGING DIRECTOR OF SEELZE, GERMANY MANUFACTURING FACILITY

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J., April 20, 2004 -- Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced today the appointment of Ralf Finzel as plant manager and managing director of the company’s manufacturing facility in Seelze, Germany. The facility is one of Honeywell Specialty Materials’ largest chemical plants worldwide.

Finzel, who has served as operations manager and organic chemicals product supply manager at the Seelze facility since 1999, is responsible for ensuring overall plant safety while increasing productivity and profitability. He also will manage the Industrial Park Seelze, which currently hosts other companies such as Sigma Aldrich and Troy Chemicals.

The facility produces inorganic and organic fine chemicals, agrochemical and pharmaceutical intermediates, Lumilux® luminescent pigments, plastic additives and functional dyes. It is also a leading supplier of ultra-high-purity hydrofluoric acid (HF), and the sole manufacturer of 100 parts per trillion (ppt) HF outside Japan. The site also is a global research center for Honeywell Specialty Materials.

Prior to joining Honeywell, Finzel served as plant manager and manager laboratories for Hoechst AG’s centralized research and development department in Frankfurt (Germany). Finzel holds a doctorate in organic chemistry from the University of Wuerzburg (Germany) and a bachelor’s in economics and business management from the College of Mainz (Germany).
