Husky opens new Copenhagen Technical Centre

Facility to offer customized injection moulding services to Nordic region

Copenhagen, Denmark – Husky Injection Molding Systems announced today that its new Copenhagen Technical Centre has officially opened. The facility will support the growing service and sales needs in Husky’s Nordic region, comprised of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

“Our new centre will greatly enhance Husky’s ability to meet the injection molding needs of new and existing customers,” Kris Kristensen, General Manager of Husky’s Nordic region, said. “The idea behind every Husky Technical Centre is to provide localised, focused service, including parts and service support, machine and hot runner training, mould trials and systems integration. Initial reaction from our customers has been overwhelmingly positive, and we expect to see a strong flow of work here.”

Copenhagen is Husky’s 20th Technical Centre and sixth in Europe. Husky has similar facilities in France, Germany, Luxembourg and Great Britain.

About half of the 900 m2 Copenhagen facility is dedicated to a machine hall for injection moulding work. Demonstration machines, slated for installation in October, will include a 160-tonne Husky Hylectric press for resin testing and trials of small technical molds, and a 400-tonne Hylectric specially equipped for thin-wall packaging molds. An 8-tonne overhead crane will handle machine, mould and hot runner needs.

With resources in design, project management and application engineering, the Technical Centre is equipped to integrate moulds, machines, robots and handling equipment into complete systems prior to shipment to customers.

The new Technical Centre is ideally located within a few kilometres of Copenhagen’s Kastrup airport and is close to the new Øresund bridge connecting Copenhagen and Malmö, Sweden.
