Husky appoints Thomas Hartkämper General Manager Technical Centre Germany North

Effective September 1, 2004, Husky Injection Molding Systems SA has appointed Thomas Hartkämper General Manager of the company’s Technical Centre Germany North in Bad Salzuflen.

“We are pleased to have Thomas in charge of our operations in Northern Germany,” said Volker Neuber, Husky’s Vice President Services & Sales Western Europe. “His background in stack and other complex moulding applications for automotive, the most technically demanding yet intensely cost-conscious industry, will benefit every customer of Husky in this region.”

“My focus will be to enhance Husky’s emphasis on meeting customer needs, especially in complex development projects,” said Hartkämper. “Husky has given me the kind of opportunity I feel most qualified for and it will be especially satisfying to apply my knowledge of projects and people to the needs of our customers.”

Prior to joining Husky, Hartkämper most recently served as key account manager for Audi and Volkswagen for the Möller Group, a system-supplier for the automotive industry headquartered in Bielefeld, Germany. There he participated in numerous projects, including inmoulded pillars for the Volkwagen Passat that resulted in the largest order from VW in Möller’s history. Other areas included such geometrically complex injection-moulded components as instrument panels, centre consoles or seat covers.

Prior to the Möller Group, Hartkämper worked as sales manager for moulds and product manager for preform systems at ThyssenKrupp Corpoplast GmbH (now SIG Corpoplast) of Hamburg, Germany. Earlier, he held a similar dual engineering/sales role at Axxicon Moulds Osterode GmbH, working in areas involving complex stack moulds.

A German national, Hartkämper is a graduate mechanical engineer (Dipl.-Ing. Maschinenbau) from the Bielefeld Fachhochschule, and he holds a master’s of Business Marketing degree from the Freie Universität in Berlin.
