New TPE compound for demanding industrial outdoor use
KRAIBURG TPE has unveiled an advanced new compound of its proven THERMOLAST® K UV/LD/b series tailored to the needs of demanding outdoor applications for building and construction, electrical engineering and electronics as well as automotive. Barryvox® Transceiver from Mammut in innovative TPE/PA multi-component design
The Mammut Sports Group, based in Switzerland, has substantially advanced its range of locating devices for rescuing winter sports enthusiasts who are buried in avalanches. The range of devices has recently been expanded to include two Barryvox® transceivers (transmitter/receiver) with optimized technical and construction characteristics, including a case seal as well as casing parts made of polyamide and a thermoplastic elastomer compound (TPE) using multi-component injection molding. A compound from KRAIBURG TPE is used here, featuring excellent adhesion to polyamides (PA) and thus providing the life-saving device with outstanding sealing quality and consequently a high degree of operational reliability.

Aptar Pharma relies on medical grade TPE for eye drop packaging
With several functional components manufactured using a newly developed, medical grade TPE from KRAIBURG TPE, Aptar Pharma launched its ophthalmic squeeze dispenser (OSD). The Thermoplastic Elastomer components come into direct contact with the medical eye drop formulation. Aptar Pharma requires classification as a medical grade plastic in compliance with the stringent regulations for the primary packaging of sensitive medications.

New TPE series for 2-component automotive applications with EPDM
At this year’s Fakuma in Friedrichshafen KRAIBURG TPE will present a new series of Thermoplastic Elastomers that were specially developed for excellent adhesion and UV resistance in two-component applications with ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber (EPDM). The new compounds of the THERMOLAST® K family are intended primarily for automotive applications such as EPDM window trim and sealing profiles with moulded TPE corner joints and end elements.
