马勒轻质气门-重量减轻55%

上海，2007年4月– 发动机气门承受极端的机械和热负荷。在一台平均转速为3500rpm的汽油发动机内，气门每秒钟开合30次，排气门侧的温度可以达到近1,000°C

马勒已经开发了一种钢材料的轻质气门，为现代多气门发动机减重作出了重大贡献。这种轻质气门由冷加工成型的镍基钣金件做成。相比以前使用不同材料的轻质气门技术，马勒的轻质气门具有更高的性价比。

与传统的锻造气门不同，轻质气门是一种中空结构。杆部由精密钢管做成，锥面和盘部由多道次冷加工成型的钣金件制成。最后用激光焊将这些单独的组件焊接成一体。针对承受更高热负荷的排气门，在空腔内充钠以达到最佳热传导效率。

对发动机系统的影响

与传统气门相比，这种轻质气门重量可以减少35%到55%。轻质气门可以提高发动机转速，这就使开发具有更高燃油经济性和更高性能的轻质发动机成为可能。由于气门在发动机内以极高的加速度开合，气门重量的减少可以显著减小气门驱动系统气缸盖的冲击力，从而有效减少这些运动件的磨损。
