Visit Milliken Chemical at Hall 05 Stand F27
K 2007 October 24-31, 2007, Düsseldorf, Germany
Milliken Chemical, a division of Milliken & Company, will showcase its pioneering steps forward into new plastic product and application areas at K 2007, 24-31 October in Düsseldorf, Germany. Advances set to benefit a wide range of markets, including packaging, automotive, medical and sports, will feature among the “world first” and “next generation” developments to be unveiled for the first time to K visitors by the additives specialist - Hall 05 Stand F27.
Reed Walker, Global Marketing Manager- Plastic Additives Milliken explains: “Milliken’s commitment to helping the plastics industry deliver the innovations of tomorrow will be reinforced at K through a wide range of new commercial applications and new additions to our product portfolio. We have invested in R&D and our customer-focused approach to take Milliken and our customers into new areas. We encourage dialogue with resins producers, plastics processors and end product manufacturers to explore the full potential of our additives, and the K show will provide an ideal platform for opening new doors to discussion.”
Opportunities for polypropylene (PP) producers to achieve new levels of PP clarity will come under the spotlight with the addition of Millad® NX8000 to Milliken’s range of world-leading, industry-standard PP clarifiers. Millad NX8000 offers breakthrough haze compared to existing clarifiers. This, in combination with key benefits such as good thermal properties, impact resistance and cost effectiveness, will expand PP’s potential to substitute clear plastics and glass in packaging and other previously unexplored product areas.
Milliken will showcase nucleating agents for both PP and polyethylene (PE) applications. The launch of Hyperform® HPN-20E will make cost-effective property modification of PE a first-time reality for converters, resin and master batch producers. Its introduction builds on the productivity, quality, dimensional control, Coefficient of Linear Thermal Expansion (CLTE) optimization and mechanical property solutions already offered to PP by Milliken’s Hyperform product range.
New applications taking advantage of the performance and processing benefits of Milliken’s developments will include: the expansion of AlphaSan® inorganic antimicrobial agents into the medical device market; the pharmaceutical packaging industry’s first-time use of ClearTint® colorants to achieve PET-like clarity and best-yet moisture barrier levels for clarified-polypropylene Injection Stretch Blow Moulding (ISBM) pill and tablet packer bottles.
Innovative examples from the world of water and automotive sports, and ballistic protection will bring to life the lightweight, high strength and good impact/fragment catching benefits of Milliken’s recently rebranded Tegris™ range of self-reinforced polypropylene composites.
