MOOG INTRODUCES NEW SUPPORT SERVICES HELPING CUSTOMERS THROUGH UNCERTAIN TIMES IN EUROPE
New, flexible and scaleable after-sales service plans provide predictability and reassurance to OEMS and end-users
East Aurora, N.Y., 20 April, 2009 – Moog’s Industrial Group, a division of Moog Inc. (NYSE: MOG.A), has launched a new suite of after-sales service programs designed to provide on-going stability and security of equipment performance to their customers across the world. Moog is a leader in the design and manufacture of high performance motion control solutions that combine electric, hydraulic and hybrid technologies.
In the current economic climate, cost management and predictability are vital to manufacturing operations across the world. This is why Moog has devised a range of new after-sales service programs that provide the technical and maintenance support customers need to ensure reliable equipment performance and lower the cost of machine ownership by avoiding unplanned costly repairs and downtime.
Today Moog has an extensive installed base throughout the world in key industries such as power generation, test machinery, plastic injection molding, flight simulation, metal forming, presses and paper machinery where machine uptime is the key. The new service programs have been initially designed for Moog Servovalves and Servo-Proportional Valves but are also available for other Moog products such as pumps, hydraulic and electric actuators.
These service programs cater to all budgets and requirements and provide a guarantee that all Moog products are rebuilt or repaired to original manufacturers specifications using only Moog parts and qualified technicians to ensure quality and performance.
There are three core service programs for customers to choose from:
Remanufacturing - This service is an enhancement of our repair services that includes restoration of older and obsolete Moog Servovalves, Radial Piston Pumps and Actuators to as-new performance levels with an extended warranty of 2 years that applies to the entire product not only the repaired element. Customers can renew their original product with OEM parts to the latest manufacturer's specifications, while avoiding the cost of purchasing new equipment and unnecessary downtime.
This new service also offers an opportunity to change industry practices and be more environmentally friendly, as fewer resources are consumed than when building a whole new part.
Full Service Program – A comprehensive service contract ensuring that there are no unplanned additional drains on maintenance budgets. Service features include temporary replacement servovalve and three-day fast track priority or super-fast one-day service. The Full Service Program covers Moog and non Moog products and ensures an all inclusive service with a pre-defined fee. This is particularly appealing for businesses operating a complex supply chain or that need longer term cost-management and forecasting.
Preventive Maintenance Program – A preventative maintenance and priority repair program to keep all Moog products in prime condition. The plan provides an annual inspection of equipment and thorough testing of Moog products.
“Innovation drives our company and is the key to our success worldwide. We have a long tradition of being close to our customers and sharing our expertise to support and maintain their operating performance. We recognize that times are tough and these new service programs are all about providing greater operational stability and security of service to our customers, to help them focus on their business priorities.” said Giuseppe Paladino, Market Manager Service Europe. “These new services reflect Moog’s commitment to our customers and recognition of their after sales needs and we are delighted to provide our end users and our OEMs with this new level of support to help them reduce downtime and manage costs.”
