MOOG TO UNVEIL HIGH SPEED, HIGH EFFICIENCY MOTION CONTROL SOLUTIONS FOR PLASTICS MACHINERY AT K 2010
BÖBLINGEN, 11 October 2010 – Moog’s Industrial Group, a leading global designer and manufacturer of high performance motion control solutions combining electric, hydraulic and hybrid technologies for plastics processing machinery, will unveil a range of new products and innovative systems at K 2010, all designed for faster and more efficient machine performance.
At K 2010 Moog is launching the innovative Speed Controlled Pump System, a complete integrated system that lowers energy consumption in hydraulic machines by 30 percent or more when compared to traditional approaches. It is based on three of Moog’s proven products: a fixed displacement Radial Piston Pump (RKP), a Maximum Dynamic Brushless Servo Motor and a Modular Multi-axis Programmable Motion Control Servodrive (MSD). The unique functionality of this system is the ability to allow users to change the speed of the motor and pump thereby controlling the fluid flow. The resulting machine is more energy efficient and this new system also provides optimized system performance and easier setup for operators. To help visitors better understand the technology, Moog has created a unique demonstration that enables our customers to “feel” the difference that the pump system can have on energy and performance in a real machine. Visitors will be invited to “Take the Challenge” and participate actively in a competition created for K-2010.
Also introduced at K2010 is the Moog Machine Controller, Series 600 (MC Series 600) that was designed specifically to combine flexibility with ease of use for high performance control in injection and blow molding applications. Moog’s latest generation controllers replace the previous M400 Series and are designed to be easy to configure and modular for greater functionality and flexibility. The Moog Machine Controller includes a CPU with fast processing speeds, a range of digital and high resolution Analog I/Os and fieldbus communications. HMIs (human man interface) directly driven by the CPU as well PC-based HMIs are part of the offering and the programming environment is the easy-to-use Moog Application Software Suite.
Moog will be exhibiting at K 2010 in Hall 10/H02.
