PPG Reports its 13th Consecutive Quarterly Sales Record
(August 18, 2006 Shanghai)Recently, PPG Industries Inc., the world’s leading diversified manufacturer headquartered in Pittsburgh, reported record sales and earnings for the second quarter of fiscal year 2006. The company realized net income of USD280 million on sales revenue of USD2.8 billion for the quarter, a year-on-year (Y-o-Y) growth of 21% and 6% respectively. During the quarter, in addition to the strong sales earnings growth, PPG was able to achieve higher margins of 14.5% from 14.1% despite an environment in which the chlor-alkali cycle, home building and North American auto manufacturing are approaching declines and higher raw material costs.

PPG Strategically Acquired Ameron and Expands Protective Coating Market
(July 19th, 2006--Shanghai, China)PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) has reached agreement to acquire the Performance Coatings and Finishes business of Ameron International Corporation, Pasadena, Calif., (NYSE:AMN). Completion of the acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, including receipt of required regulatory approvals, which are expected within 30 to 45 days.

DAIMLERCHRYSLER AND SIGN AGREEMENT TO RECOMMEND PPG REFINISH SYSTEMS WORLDWIDE
(June 20， 2006--Shanghai China)DaimlerChrysler AG and PPG Industries have signed an agreement for the use of PPG refinish coatings for the repair of DaimlerChrysler vehicles worldwide. Under terms of the agreement, DaimlerChrysler will recommend the use of specified PPG products to its customers. The agreement is for an unlimited period of time.

PPG to acquire Chinese manufacturer, distributor of architectural coatings
PITTSBURGH, May 15, 2006 – PPG Industries is expanding its presence in the Chinese architectural coatings market with today’s announcement that it has agreed to acquire certain assets of Shanghai Sunpool Building Material Co., Ltd., and its associated companies, including Shanghai IDI International Co., Ltd., and a group of businesses that manufacture and distribute coatings and building materials. Terms were not disclosed.
