Perstorp sells its Belgian site with its coating additives activities to Synthomer plc
Perstorp March 6, 2017 - The specialty chemicals innovator and supplier Perstorp (Perstorp Holding AB) today announces the sale of its additives activities primarily serving the paints and coatings industry produced at its facility at Gent Belgium, Perstorp Belgium (Perstorp Oxo Belgium AB) to Synthomer (Synthomer plc). The total consideration for the sale is €78 million (subject to certain adjustments). The divestment is in line with Perstorp’s strategy to focus on and expand its core chemicals activities.

Perstorp says “it’s time to act!” We are all responsible for the plastics we consume
Perstorp - November 29, 2016 - One million plastic bags are used every minute throughout the year, globally1. Many of them end up in our nature and stay there. A large proportion of the plastics are items with a short lifetime. On average, each plastic bag has a “working life” of just 15 minutes2. When waste management fails, these bags, along with other forms of plastic packaging, end up in our environment and in most cases that is where they will remain. By using biodegradable and certified plastics they will not stay there forever.

Perstorp - September 14, 2016 - The key monomer in Perstorp’s Akestra™ thermoplastic copolyester has been added to (EU) 10/2011 by the European Commission. This means that all components in Akestra™ are now on the list of authorized substances for food contact use which proves that Akestra™ is fully safe for use in food packaging.
