(Photo: Perstorp)2017 saw Perstorp reaching an extraordinary milestone with the delivery of an excellent volume-based sales growth of 10 percent and sales amounting to SEK 13,592 million. EBITDA excluding non-recurring items increased by 20 percent to record high SEK 2,133 million. A successful refinancing of the balance sheet in the third quarter last year, amounting to EUR 230 million, also gave the company lower interest rates on the floating rate notes.

New study clears 2-EHA of suspicion of additional classification by ECHA

(Photo: Shutterstock)Recently 2-ethylhexanoic acid (2-EHA) has shown no adverse effects regarding reproduction at the highest dose tested in a study executed at the request of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). Because of earlier suspicions on reproductive toxicity, ECHA had 2-EHA listed in the Community Rolling Action Plan (CoRAP) as CMR (reproductive toxicity - fertility) and potential neurodevelopmental toxicity. This listing has now been removed: 2-EHA is no longer under consideration for additional classification and labeling. The product is considered safe with risk mitigation measures in place.

Research shows organic acids as viable feed hygiene alternative for formaldehyde

Foreseeing this decision, Swedish organic acid producer and feed additives manufacturer Perstorp has been researching the mode of action and effectiveness of organic acids against Salmonella for years. New data brought to light that propionic acid reduces the motility of Salmonella, and that specifically selected essential oils have a synergetic effect with organic acids. The Issuer was independently formed and is not an affiliate of the Company.

Perstorp December 14, 2017 - Perstorp Holding AB (publ) (“Company”) today announced that it has closed the offering of its €250,000,000 aggregate principal amount of Senior Secured Floating Rate Notes due 2022 (the “Notes”). The Notes will bear interest at EURIBOR (with a floor of 0%) plus 4.25% per annum. The Notes will mature on September 15, 2022, subject to a springing maturity of (x) June 30, 2021 if the Company’s existing 11% Second Lien Notes due 2021 are not refinanced in full on or prior to June 30, 2021 or (y) September 30, 2021 if (i) the Company’s Mezzanine Facility Agreement is not (a) refinanced in full on or prior thereto or (b) extended in full on or prior thereto such that the termination date of the Mezzanine Facility Agreement is December 15, 2022.
