Perstorp’s sustainable growth commitment reinforced with new products at ECS 2011

Leading specialty chemicals company Perstorp will introduce its latest cutting-edge developments and solutions for future demands in Nuremberg at the European Coatings Show 2011, 29-31 March. The key focus will be on new product launches for more eco-friendly technologies at the main international exhibition for the Coatings and Adhesives industries (hall 7A, stand no. 7A-427).

Performance products based on a consistent portfolio

Many of Perstorp’s high quality products are used in resins for coatings & inks and formulated coatings & adhesives. Among its portfolio of materials and skills, Perstorp’s offer for polyurethane-based systems is at the sector’s forefront. This includes performance products that can be used directly in formulations. For example Tolonate™ aliphatic polyisocyanates, which are crosslinkers for high-performance polyurethane coatings & adhesives, and Capa™ polycaprolactones, which reduce the need for solvents thanks to their exceptionally low viscosity, while achieving outstanding abrasion resistance and flexibility at low temperatures.

It also includes essential building blocks for polyurethane dispersions (PUD), ranging from dispersing monomers (Bis-MPA, Ymer™ N120), polyols (Oxymer™ polycarbonate diols and Capa™ polycaprolactones) and isocyanate monomers (HDI, IPDI, TDI).

Innovation driven by sustainability

The Perstorp mission is to provide sustainable solutions through innovative chemistry to the selected market segments we serve. As a result Perstorp has launched Voxtar™, the world’s first pentaerythritol platform based on renewable raw materials and energy. Voxtar™ cuts the carbon footprint by a significant 65%.

Based on a unique patented technology, the Easaqua™ grades are self-emulsifiable polyisocyanates, used as crosslinkers of effective eco-friendly waterborne polyurethane alternatives to conventional solvent-based coatings. A new grade will be introduced during the show.

Perstorp is committed to supporting its customers’ growth, and regularly invests to sustain its leadership positions via doubling capacity of Capa™ polycaprolactones and increasing production capacity in HDI derivatives, (Tolonate™ and Easaqua™ ranges).
