Quadrant Introduces Breakthrough Engineering Plastic Material at SEMICON West 2012
Quadrant launches Semitron® MPR1000 at SEMICON West 2012, the flagship annual event for the global microelectronics industry, held from July 10-12, 2012 in San Francisco, California. This new material delivers a competitive advantage to engineers by offering a higher performance material option combined with lower overall production costs.
Semitron® MPR1000 is a breakthrough engineering material developed for Semiconductor applications and more, but specifically for use in vacuum chamber applications. According to Quadrant EPP Global Market Segment Manager Scott Williams, the new material will fill the performance gap left by traditional materials. “Over the years, increasing electrode power levels, combined with aggressive plasma chemistries, led engineers to turn to expensive ceramics or breakage-prone quartz as their only options,” says Williams. Utilizing advanced technology, the engineers at Quadrant, the world's largest manufacturer of machinable plastics, developed Semitron® MPR1000 to be the go-to engineering plastic material option for plasma-based applications.
“The unique properties of Semitron® MPR1000 strike the perfect balance between the highest level of performance in the chamber and real value by delivering superior toughness of up to 25 times longer life over traditional plastics such as polyimide, while providing lower overall cost in use and ease of machining compared to semiconductor-grade ceramics.” states Williams. Another notable benefit is the material's cleanliness in the form of low ionic metal content and low out-gassing.
Quadrant will feature their new Semitron® MPR1000 material at SEMICON West 2012, booth #2119 in the South Hall of Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA, again adding to the industry's most innovative and broad family of materials.
