UK trade associations are committed to Interplas 2002

The UK plastics and rubber industry is giving its total backing and support to next year’s Interplas exhibition.

All three major trade associations in the UK have now confirmed their commitment to Interplas 2002 and are expecting their respective memberships to endorse that decision by their representation at the event. The exhibition already carries the support of Euromap, the committee of European associations of machinery manufacturers for the plastics and rubber industries.

The British Plastics Federation and the equally influential Plastics Machinery Manufacturers and Distributors Association both recently signed contracts with Reed Exhibition Companies, the exhibition organiser, committing them to supporting Interplas 2002. Most encouragingly, also, for the future of the Interplas series of trade fairs, the PMMDA extended their contractual commitment to the 2005 exhibition.

The GMTA (Gauge & Toolmakers Association), the third key trade association in the UK plastics industry, had already confirmed its full support for Interplas 2002. In real terms, this commitment has been demonstrated by the GTMA increasing the size of its pavilion at the exhibition to 540 square metres.

The total support the Interplas series of events receives from Euromap and the major UK associations has played a significant part in establishing it as a truly international event. The last exhibition, Interplas 1999, attracted representatives from 87 countries as part of a total audience in excess of 30,000, of which 92% said they intended to attend the show in 2002.
