Bookings from K confirm international standing of Interplas

The largest plastics and rubber exhibition being staged anywhere in the world next year is Interplas 2002. And the already outstanding prospects for the show have been enhanced further following a major marketing initiative by Reed Exhibition Companies at this year’s K’2001.

During the K fair, the global sales team for Reed Exhibition Companies, the organisers of Interplas, obtained bookings for a further 1,900 square metres of stand space at Interplas 2002. More than 40% of this space, 800 square metres, has been reserved by overseas companies, confirming the international standing of the event within the European exhibition calendar.

The main contributors to the overseas bookings were companies based in Germany, the traditional stronghold of Europe’s polymer industry; Spain, which now has one of the most dynamic processing sectors; and - most encouragingly from a global trading viewpoint - the United States. The remaining 1,100 square metres of space was reserved by UK companies.

This latest round of bookings has confirmed that Interplas 2002 will be a truly international exhibition, incorporating most of Europe’s major players and many other overseas companies committed to using such events as their primary sales platform providing direct access to the £18 billion UK and Irish plastics and rubber market.

Interplas 2002, an all-embracing polymer exhibition, is being held at the NEC in Birmingham from 30th September - 4th October 2002.

It will be the 19th exhibition in the Interplas series and has the support of Euromap, the Polymer Machinery Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMMDA), the British Plastics Federation (BPF), the Institute of Materials (IoM) and the Gauge & Toolmaking Association (GTMA).
