Interplas Steering Committee - a think tank of the polymer industry
The Interplas 2002 steering committee is a valuable asset to the Reed Exhibitions organising team. Drawn from the plastics and rubber industry, the members of the committee represent the British Plastics Federation (BPF), the Polymer Machinery and Manufacturers Association (PMMDA), the Institute of Materials (IoM), the Gauge and Tool Makers Association (GTMA) and exhibitors from the polymer materials, ancillary equipment and machinery sectors.
In demanding and changing times within the polymer industry, the support and advice from the steering committee offers first hand knowledge of market trends and developments, which directly affects the promotional activity conducted throughout the campaign.
The Interplas sales, marketing and organising teams meet regularly with the committee to identify objectives, brainstorm ideas and determine how to best meet the needs of the processors, OEM's and designers from the industry through the UK's only plastics and rubber exhibition.
“The understanding of the industry presented to us as an exhibition organiser through the steering group can only be described as an asset. The Interplas brand is recognised and trusted. The marketing of this event is focused, forward thinking, direct and targeted and on site, the show will deliver world class exhibitors, interesting features and learning opportunities to visitors” says Justin Tadman, exhibition director at Reed Exhibitions.
Examples of where the partnership has made positive differences to the show include:
An additional visitor crossover point between halls 4 and 5 which will make access to ancillary equipment and machinery manufacturers much easier, easing the pressure on the visitors feet.
The development and execution of an extended and more focused marketing campaign.
Advertising in vertical magazines, extending the reach of the campaign beyond the key polymer press highlights the important role of polymer to new visitor groups from a variety of sectors including medical, transportation (including railways, automotive, aeronautical and marine), telecommunications and sports and leisure.
New opening times.
A price freeze for exhibitors on power and lifting costs during the show.
Interplas 2002 is occupying Halls 3, 3A, 4 and 5 of Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre over the five days of 30 September - 4 October. A total of 1,000 companies will be exhibiting and over 30,000 visitors are expected to attend what is the largest international plastics and rubber exhibition this year.
