Comprehensive seminar programme adds further value to Interplas 2002
The five-day seminar programme scheduled for this year’s Interplas exhibition provides all visitors to the show with the opportunity to attend a wide range of up-to-the-minute, technical and topical presentations. And, admission to seminars is free of charge to all visitors.
Every day of the exhibition, from Monday 30th September to Friday 4th October, the seminar programme consists of a series of presentations, each lasting between 30-45 minutes. From 1st - 3rd October the main theme of the topics is product design and manufacturing. Attendees have no need to book a reservation in advance and registration will be restricted to a swipe of their visitor badge on entering the theatre, which is located in Hall 3 on Stand 3496.
Mold-Masters, the global leader in hot runner technology, and the monthly technical magazine, BP&R. (British Plastics & Rubber) sponsor the seminar programme. It carries the full support of the major sponsors and supporters of Interplas 2002, the British Plastics Federation (BPF), the Plastics Machinery Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMMDA), the GTMA (Gauge & Toolmakers Association) and the Institute of Materials (IoM).
The first two sessions each day are being presented by Smallpiece Enterprises, a specialist training provider for engineering and manufacturing. Topics include: Developing a lean organisation; Designing out costs; Six Sigma and Eliminating design and process failures.
All other seminars are focused on current hot topics from within the plastics and rubber industry.
Typical technological presentations are: Two shot moulding and tooling applications (Billion); Revolutionary moulding techniques (Birkby’s Plastics); Water injection moulding (Cinpres Gas Injection). More provocative subjects include Free the operating team and boost your business and Labour costs don’t matter anymore.
Full details of the programme, including speaker biographies, can be found on the Interplas 2002 website at www.interplas-expo.co.uk/seminars
Exhibition director Justin Tadman believes the seminar programme is a valuable part of Interplas 2002. “The breadth and diversity of the seminars ensures that many of the industry’s hot topics will be under the spotlight,” says Tadman. “The fact that most of the presentations last only 30 minutes and all are free of charge should add to their appeal for many of the exhibition’s UK and overseas visitors.”
