Interplas a key trade show for design engineers

One of the world’s leading manufacturing events, Interplas 2002, is being staged at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, from 30 September to 4 October. This important industrial show will be a focus for design engineers.

Design engineering will be a central feature at Interplas 2002. The driver behind all change, design, is a critical component of the plastics industry. Polymers offer a broad range of advantages and benefits to application manufacture and end-use in virtually all industries. Key among them are total design freedom, parts integration and simplified assembly, light weight, high strength, durability and resistance to heat, chemicals and harsh environments.

Interplas 2002 will give design engineers the opportunity to view the latest developments in materials and processes, and gain fresh ideas to extend their knowledge and use of polymers. Additionally, a 'Designing in Plastics' technical forum specifically addresses their needs through the provision of presentation and discussion sessions with the most innovative uses of polymers for applications across a span of industries.

Also of value will be a series of free seminars, these include presentations on: Two shot moulding and tooling applications (Billion); Revolutionary moulding techniques (Birkby’s Plastics); Water injection moulding (Cinpres Gas Injection), How to select the right material (Distrupol).

Full details of the programme, including speaker biographies, can be found on the Interplas 2002 website at www.interplas-expo.co.uk/seminars
