Rhodia Polyamide Announces Further Price Increases for Polyamide Resins, Fibers and Compounds
St. Fons, France, November 24th, 2004 – Rhodia Polyamide announces a price increase of € 200 per metric ton for Rhodia’s PA 6.6 base resins, Performance Fibers and Technyl® polyamide compounds in Europe. This increase is effective as of January 1st, 2005.
This price increase is required to help absorb unprecedented rising costs in transport, energy and raw materials, in particular benzene, butadiene and caprolactam. Additional price increases might be necessary in the next months to compensate the continuous erosion of margins at a time when the global polyamide demand is strengthening worldwide, and the industry capacity is very tight.
