Successful ISO requalification audit for Rhodia Polyamide Intermediates & Polymers European Business Units
Lyon, France – August 30 , 2007 – Rhodia announced today that in June 2007 Rhodia Polyamide Intermediates & Polymers (I&P) successfully completed the triennial ISO 9001 audit allowing renewal of its European certificate.
This certification, originally covering the French sites of Belle-Etoile and Chalampé, now includes two new sites, at Blanès in Spain and at Freiburg in Germany. Certification is now in place for all Rhodia sites producing STABAMID™ branded polymers in Europe. Det Norske Veritas (DNV) was the certifying body.
During this audit, DNV specially commended I&P management on a ‘cultural process approach’ deployed throughout the company at ‘process owner’ level at all production sites.
DNV also noted the company’s concerted efforts to listen to its customers using several channels such as product and service quality remarks, electronic customer satisfaction surveys, audits or ratings. Feedback is evaluated by 'process owners' for implementing action plans, resulting in a continuous improvement driven by customers.
In addition to passing the quality renewal audit, DNV also certified the company’s Blanès production site according to ISO 14001 environmental standard in a combined ISO 9001/14001 audit.
