ROHM AND HAAS OPENS SOUTHWEST DISTRIBUTION CENTER IN CHINA

Shanghai, China, July 27, 2007 — The fourth distribution center for Rohm and Haas Paint and Coatings Materials’ (PCM) in China, has been operating since July 2007. The Southwest Distribution Center, is located in Chengdu National Economic and Technological Development Zone, Hongan Chemical Industry Park. It serves the entire Southwest China region, including Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou and Chongqing. The distribution center completes Rohm and Haas’ sales network in China, and speeds up the feedback to customers’ needs in Southwest China.

Rohm and Haas PCM is committed to providing world-class service to China customers. Three manufactories have been built in China mainland, located in Beijing, Shanghai and Sanshui in Guangdong province. The new distribution center in the southwest, together with the original three distribution centers, compose of a national distribution network for the customers in the north, the east, the south and the southwest to provide the most convenient and personalized service.

The establishment of the southwest distribution center is not only significant for Rohm and Haas, it also brings customization services to the customers in southwest region," Mr. Bruce Hoechner, General Manager of Asia-Pacific (except India) Regional, Rohm and Haas PCM said. "In the future, the lead time to our customers in southwest China will be shortened from 10 days to maximum 5 days, which can provide the nearest customer support and substantially improve the speed of customer response.”

The southwest distribution center will adopt stringent safety management, completely in line with the national regulation for chemical warehousing and transportation. Also the distribution center will apply Rohm and Haas’ unified SAP ERP system.
