SABIC Partners with SCHÜTZ to Develop High-Performance, Cost-Effective Granulated HDPE for Intermediate Bulk Containers
Sittard, the Netherlands – February 15, 2011 – SABIC, a global plastics industry leader, today announced that its high-performance SABIC® HDPE ICP4907S material for industrial containers is now commercially available. The breakthrough high-density polyethylene (HDPE) – developed collaboratively with SCHÜTZ, a global leading producer of industrial packaging - is designed for blow moulding of Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC) up to 1000 litres and more. SABIC® HDPE ICP4907S resin combines outstanding stiffness/impact-balance with optimal environmental stress crack resistance and chemical resistance. Most significantly, this material delivers improved melt flow for excellent processing performance and potential system cost reduction.

SABIC Partners with MAUSER to Develop High-Performance, Cost-Effective Granulated HDPE for Industrial Containers
Sittard, the Netherlands – January 19, 2011 – SABIC, a global plastics industry leader, today announced that its high-performance SABIC® HDPE ICP 5602 material for industrial containers is now commercially available. The breakthrough high-density polyethylene (HDPE) – developed collaboratively with MAUSER, a leading producer of industrial packaging - is designed for blow moulding of tight head drums with a capacity of 25 to 220 litres. SABIC® HDPE ICP 5602 resin combines very high impact and rigidity with excellent processing performance and optimal resistance to stress cracks and chemicals. Most significantly, this material delivers improved melt flow for higher productivity and reduced energy usage, and its granular form – a departure from traditional powders – prevents waste, increases machine efficiency and permits safer product handling.

Ultra-Stiff and Weatherable Lexan* Thermoclear* Sheet Glazes Massive, Free-Hanging Roof of UEFA Euro 2012™ Stadium in Śląski, Poland

New Ultra-Stiff Lexan Thermoclear sheet, with its ability to withstand high winds and heavy snow loads typical of the region, is being used to construct the 43,000 m2, free-hanging roof of the UEFA Euro 2012™ Football Championship Stadium in Silesian (Śląski) Chorzów, Poland. This new 25 mm, three-wall, X-structure material will protect up to 55,200 spectators from the elements while enabling natural light to fill the stadium. SABIC Innovative Plastics’ New Noryl GTX* Conductive Resins Offer Greater Dimensional Stability for Larger Automotive Body Panels

These new conductive blends of polyamide (PA) and modified polyphenylene ether (PPE) cut coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) by 20 to 40 percent vs. previous grades for increased dimensional stability and improved gap and flush management, giving automotive designers greater freedom to create larger top-quality, high-precision body panels than previously feasible, and which integrate into existing processes, including higher-heat online painting systems.
