SABIC’s new PP extrusion line is now operational in the Netherlands

SABIC adds unique PP Ultra Melt Strength resin to its global foam portfolio

SABIC Announces European Launch of THERMOCOMP™ AM Materials for Large Format Additive Manufacturing at Formnext
Frankfurt, Germany, November 16, 2017 - SABIC, a global leader in the chemical industry, today introduced to the European market a family of high-performance THERMOCOMP™ AM compounds to address the unique requirements of large format additive manufacturing. Here at Formnext 2017, in stand 3.1-G78, the company is exhibiting these eight new compounds, developed for use in large-format pellet-fed extruders. Print parameters and mechanical property data for the materials – developed by SABIC using test specimens printed on the company’s in-house BAAM® printer – are available to aid customers in expediting material selection and optimizing processing conditions. Because they are reinforced with carbon or glass fibers for added strength, the new THERMOCOMP™ AM compounds can be used for demanding applications in the tooling, aerospace, automotive and defense industries.

SABIC Debuts Tough High-Impact LEXAN™ EXL Filament for Fused Deposition Modeling at Formnext 2017
Frankfurt, Germany, November 15, 2017 - SABIC, a global leader in the chemical industry, is launching here at Formnext 2017, in stand 3.1-G78, new LEXAN™ EXL AMHI240F filament. This unique product is based on SABIC’s LEXAN™ EXL polycarbonate (PC) copolymer technology, which delivers high impact performance and low-temperature ductility. The new filament addresses the need for higher-performing materials in the industrial sector, and is designed for use in Stratasys® Fortus® Classic industrial printers. It is a potential material of choice for demanding aerospace, consumer electronics and automotive applications. LEXAN™ EXL AMHI240F filament is the first of several new materials with distinctive performance characteristics that the company plans to launch in the coming year.

CERAFILTEC Promises “Clean Water Everywhere” with Unique Ceramic Filtration Module Molded from SABIC NORYL™ Resin
Amsterdam, the Netherlands, November 2, 2017 - According to the United Nations1, water shortages will affect two-thirds of the world's population by 2025 if current consumption patterns continue. CERAFILTEC, a manufacturer of innovative water filtration solutions, is helping to address this looming crisis with a unique filtration module molded from SABIC’s NORYL™ glass-reinforced polyphenylene ether (PPE) resin. The new module securely houses multiple high-performance silicon carbide (SiC) flat sheet membranes that can quickly and effectively filter demanding water sources, including seawater, freshwater, industrial wastewater and even hot water. NORYL™ resin can provide best-in-class hydrolytic and dimensional stability, chemical and high temperature resistance, and is certified for potable water applications under NSF/ANSI Standard 61. These critical properties enabled CERAFILTEC to replace previous modules requiring corrosion-prone steel framing with a fully injection molded design. SABIC Showcases at Aquatech Comprehensive Services to Predict Performance of Thermoplastics in Water Management
