SABIC to Showcase Extensive Portfolio of Materials Solutions for the Lighting Industry at Strategies in Light Event in Munich, Germany

BERGEN OP ZOOM, The Netherlands, September 10, 2012 - At the Strategies in Light exhibition in Munich, Germany, to be held September 18-20, SABIC's Innovative Plastics business will demonstrate how its broad portfolio of materials can help customers address key lighting trends ranging from new aesthetic requirements for light emitting diode (LED) retrofits to ever-increasing demands for better sustainability.

With a large array of high-performance resins and composites in the industry, supported by unmatched technical expertise and services, SABIC can provide full solutions that simplify the supply chain, are globally available and address multiple customer challenges. The company continues to set the standard for safety, sustainability and high quality in lighting materials and demonstrates a relentless focus on meeting evolving customer requirements.

At its booth (#B8), SABIC will showcase a wide choice of world-class materials including polycarbonate (PC) and special compounds including thermally conductive and electrically isolative materials. All of these materials offer non-brominated, non-chlorinated flame retardance that supports increasing global regulations.

Featured solutions will include the Lexan* LUX family of high-performance PC resins for LED lighting, which offer a choice of customizable diffusion levels or transparency and excellent luminance. Also highlighted will be LNP* Konduit* conductive compound for thermal management, offering greater design freedom than traditional approaches. Ultraviolet-stable Lexan SLX copolymers, offering enhanced weatherability for outdoor lighting applications and specialized Lexan PC with high reflectivity providing new choices for reflectors will also be on display.
