Construction of Songwon new world-scale antioxidant plant is ahead of schedule
Ulsan, Korea, January 16, 2007 – Songwon Industrial Co., Ltd. announced today that the construction of its second dedicated manufacturing site for the production of phenolic and phosphite antioxidants is ahead of schedule and the plant start-up is now set for April 2007. Consistent with Songwon’s manufacturing strategy to provide economy of scale and security of supply, the project includes the back integration of key raw materials. In the first phase, this new manufacturing site will increase the Songwon capacity to about 55.000 tons, a 60% increase over the current capability. A second phase of expansion is already planned to bring total capacity to 80.000 tons and will be implemented as soon as the market demand will justify it.

Songwon announces a new strategic approach and increased commitment to the Polymer Industry
Ulsan, Korea, September 22, 2006 - Songwon announced today the completion of its strategic review and a number of related initiatives which will be a quantum leap in its commitment to the polymer industry. Songwon Industrial Co., Ltd., with manufacturing facilities in Ulsan South Korea, is a major producer of antioxidants and is serving the global markets indirectly through a distribution agreement with Clariant. Songwon began producing additives for the PVC industry in the mid 1960’s and antioxidants for the polymer industry in the mid 1980’s.

Antioxidants Cooperation to End
Ulsan, Korea, September 15, 2006 - Songwon Industrial Co., Ltd. and Clariant International Ltd. (Muttenz, Switzerland) announced today that they mutually agreed to end their cooperation in antioxidants after many years of a successful partnership as of January 31, 2008. The decision follows as a result of a strategic re-orientation of both companies based on the global market development.
