Meet the strengthened team at K 2007

Ulsan, Korea, September 4, 2007 – In September of 2006, Songwon announced a strategic plan that included establishing direct channels to the market, significantly expanding antioxidant capacity, extending the product range, and providing innovation. Over the last year, Songwon has delivered on the first three elements of this strategy. In particular the last step taken to strengthen the regional focus of Songwon has been the establishment of Songwon International-India in August 2007. Songwon is now pleased to announce four new additions to the global team, consistent with the strategic element of driving innovation and customer value.

Jongho Park, Chairman and CEO of Songwon Industrial Co., Ltd. commented, “We are committed to continue to grow our business globally and our vision is to become the preferred solution provider to our customers. In the last year we have shown our determination by establishing direct channels, opening a European headquarters in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, an American headquarters in Houston, TX, and a new regional office in Mumbai, India, adding a second major antioxidant production facility, and extending our product range. We now would like to extend our expertise by appointing four key professionals who bring extensive knowledge of our industry and customers.”

Joachim Bayer has been appointed to the position of Director Technical Sales and Technical Services, Europe, Middle East and Africa. In this role he will be responsible for technical processes and provide our customers with the best solution. He brings 15 years of experience in polymer additives to Songwon and has been in his new role since June of this year.

Dr. John Mara has been appointed as the Technical Sales & Commercialization Manager for Songwon International – Americas. John brings 15 years of technical and commercial experience in the polymer and polymer additives industries.

On September 1st, 2007, Klaus Keck-Antoine will take the role of Executive Officer Global Applications. With an extensive career in the additives and stabilizers business, he is ideally suited to take on the initial task to set up the new competence centre for application development and technical services. This important role will allow Songwon to continue to deliver on its commitment to providing appropriate solutions in expanding markets globally.

Nilesh Mehta will join Songwon on October 1st 2007, as Manager Songwon International-India & Sales Manager South East Asia. His responsibilities will be to grow sales through focussed market and product development, as well as ensuring customers have access to the products they need in this exciting and rapidly expanding market. Nilesh joins Songwon with an intimate knowledge of the South-East Asia region as well as a broad experience of polymer additives.
