Cincinnati Extrusion

The best-seller among extruders: more applications for new Alpha models

With its Alpha single-screw extruder series tailored to profile extrusion, Cin-cinnati Extrusion is offering its customers a convincing machine concept. Since the introduction of this new, standardized machine series at K 2001, more than 160 Alpha extruders have already been sold worldwide. Now the Vienna machine manufacturer has once more responded to current market trends by adding two new Alpha models to this successful line, one with grooved feed-bushing, and another with fine-grooved feed bushing.

All advantages of the well-known Alpha extruder - immediate delivery, a favourable, uniform global price, and high technological standards - also apply, of course, to the new models. In addition to the basic version Alpha 25 B, the new Alpha 28 G with a grooved feed zone and the Alpha 28 F with a fine-grooved feed zone are now avail-able in the standard 45 and 60 mm sizes. These new types have the same mechani-cal and electrical properties as the basic extruder model. Only the smooth, cooled barrel feed zone with a length of 0.5 D (measured from the end of the feed opening) has been replaced by a cooled grooved bushing with a length of 3.5 D. The length of the remaining section of 24.5 D is unchanged, which brings the total effective length up to 28 D. Optimized wear resistance is ensured by a welded-on hard-metal alloy coating in the feed zone of the 28-D screws.

Cincinnati recommends the new Alpha-Extruder 28 G with coarse-grooved feed bushing especially for the manufacture of profiles, tubes, and corrugated tubes from polypropylene, with or without filler content. This model ensures optimized pressure build-up and low melt temperatures even at high pressures and with maximum throughput. The Alpha 45-28 G reaches a throughput of up to 60 kg/h in processing PP, and the Alpha 60-28 G even manages a maximum performance of 90 kg/h. These extruder models, with their positive feed characteristics, also show an excel-lent performance in processing PE and ABS. The Alpha extruders of the F series are also capable of increased throughput rates in a pulsation-free, continuous production process. The machine manufacturer has developed these machines with fine-grooved feed bushing especially for processing “soft“ materials. In the production of profiles and gaskets from TPE, TPU and PVC soft, the Alpha 45-28 F reaches an impressive performance of up to 60 kg/h, and the Alpha 60-28 F achieves a maxi-mum throughput of 90 kg/h.
