MOLDFLOW CORPORATION AND SYNVENTIVE MOLDING SOLUTIONS SIGN COLLABORATIVE JOINT DEVELOPMENT EFFORT

WAYLAND, MA - Sept. 20, 2002 – Moldflow Corporation (NASDAQ: MFLO), the world leader in process-wide solutions for optimizing the design and manufacture of plastic products, today announces a joint development agreement with Synventive Molding Solutions, Inc., a leading developer of innovation solutions for injection molding applications that employ hot runner systems. According to the agreement, both companies will collaboratively develop software products targeted for the plastic injection molding and manufacturing industries.

Development teams from Moldflow will enhance the Moldflow Plastic Insight™ (MPI®) software product for mold filling simulation to include Synventive’s Dynamic Feed® (DF) hot runner simulation functionality. In addition, Moldflow and Synventive will develop interfaces between DF and Moldflow’s Manufacturing Solutions including Moldflow Plastic Xpert® (MPX®) for controlling the shop floor molding process; Shotscope® for injection molding process and production monitoring; and EZ-Track™ for production monitoring and reporting. The enhanced products will be compatible and operate synergistically among Moldflow and Synventive customers throughout the world.
