DARMSTADT, Germany – September 22, 2016 – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, has joined the OPC Foundation, a vendor-independent non-profit organization which drives the development, maintenance and promotion of Openness Productivity Connectivity – Unified Architecture (OPC UA). This engagement reflects the company’s commitment to the concepts of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)/Industry 4.0 (I4.0), the key elements of which are semantic interoperability and transmission integrity, the essential aspects of OPC UA.

TE Connectivity Has Joined the EtherCAT Technology Group (ETG)

TE Connectivity Opens New High Voltage Rail Test Centre to Reduce Time to Market by 30 Percent
Swindon, U.K. – July 21, 2016 – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, has completed a major enhancement to its global rail business with the opening of a new, in-house Rail High Voltage (HV) Test Centre in Swindon. TE has created the new facility specifically to carry out electrical and mechanical tests on HV rail products for rolling stock applications, especially the roofline systems that provide the vital electrical connection between the overhead catenary wires and the transformers that supply the power for traction and other on-board loads.

Floris Hebben completes successful internship at TE Connectivity with Smart Prototype Factory thesis
‘S-HERTOGENBOSCH, The Netherlands – July 11, 2016 – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, says local student Floris Hebben has successfully completed his internship at the company’s Den Bosch facility with the completion of a thesis on the Smart Prototype Factory. Floris, who has been studying at the Technical University Eindhoven, spent five months with TE investigating the benefits of having a Smart Prototype Factory in the TE facility. The main aim of a Smart Prototype Factory is to combine mass customization with next-day delivery of prototypes.
