TE CONNECTIVITY LAUNCHES COMPLETE M8/M12 CONNECTOR SYSTEM FOR EFFICIENT COMMUNICATION IN INDUSTRIAL ENVIRONMENTS

New easy-to-install industry standard connector system for machine industrial automation and control applications provides a solution that safely and reliably ensures communication in harsh industrial environments

Schaffhausen, Switzerland - 02 June 2014 - TE Connectivity, a leader in world-class industrial connectivity solutions, has launched a new connector system for machine industrial automation and control applications. The newly expanded, easy-to-install M8/M12 Connector System offers design engineers a reliable and complete solution for various applications to decrease downtime in industrial environments, providing users with an interface that supports higher bandwidth needs - meeting the requirements of up to 10 Gb/s.

The new system includes an extensive range of board and field installable connectors, cable assemblies and IO boxes. Key applications include Industrial Automation; Automobile Manufacturing; Machine Tools; Semiconductor Manufacturing; Factory Automation Machines; Vision Systems and Manufacturing of Solenoid and Sensor valves. They are also sufficiently robust for use in harsh commercial applications such as outdoor data communications; outdoor telecoms; and advanced traffic monitoring.

Designed to IEC-61076-2-101, the new connector system is also highly suited for applications outside the traditional industrial environment, offering benefits wherever a compact reliable connection system with IP67 and IP68 environment protection is required.

Introducing the new range, Eric Leijtens, Global Product Management Leader, Field Connectivity said: “At TE, we understand that different applications and industries have various requirements. However, the one thing they have in common is that the communication simply needs to work. The new M8/M12 system fully complements our Industrial Communications portfolio – and enables us to offers customers a solution that is time-saving and error-free, both now and in the future.”

TE Connectivity’s broad solution provides customers with shielded, unshielded and customized cable assembly options in both Cat5e and Cat6A types, different lengths and temperature resistance. While the passive distribution boxes offer reduced cabling and ease of installation and maintenance, the range of straight, angled, LED, multi-position and high-speed connectors provide a solution for many industrial applications. Additionally, the T and Y adaptors facilitate simple splitting of control signals, allowing versatile systems to be quickly and easily established.
